Sri Lanka Cricket hopes to host Asia Cup in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka Cricket is hopeful of hosting the Australia Series and Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka Cricket Secretary Mohan de Silva says he is in touch with Asian cricket boards and Australia.
He said that there was a successful discussion during the International Cricket Council (ICC) meetings and everything would go according to schedule.
According to Indian media, the transfer of Asia Cup will be discussed in the meeting of International Cricket Council (ICC).
The ICC will meet in Dubai to discuss the current situation in Sri Lanka and the Asia Cup.
All members of the Asian Cricket Council are in Dubai for the International Cricket Council meeting.
According to sources, Australia's tour of Sri Lanka will also be seen and Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka before the Asia Cup is also scheduled.
The meeting will review the report of the ICC Working Group on Afghanistan Cricket Board.
Sources also said that the ICC is considering a strategy to enhance women's Test cricket.
He said that this year's series would be of financial benefit to the Sri Lankan board.
Australia are scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in June for two Tests, three T20s and five ODIs.
The Cricket Australia delegation is in Sri Lanka to review security and other arrangements.
The Asia Cup will be held in August and September while Pakistan is also scheduled to visit Sri Lanka in the meantime
