Imran sells gifts against rules for Rs 140 million: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that former Prime Minister Imran Khan sold gifts from Tosha Khana in Dubai for Rs 140 million against the rules.

 Valuable gifts include diamond jewelery, bracelets, watches and sets, while PML-N vice-president Maryam Nawaz says the real question is where she got the money to buy the gifts as she has no source of income other than salary. PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb has said that there will be a full investigation into the case.

 The gold-plated Kalashnikov is also missing. It will be recovered from Bani Gala, said PML-N Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal.

 On the other hand, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has said that if a country gave a watch as a gift and the former prime minister bought it from the government and sold it abroad, what was the crime? As much as they are trying to throw mud at Imran Khan, they are getting dirty themselves.

 According to details, Shahbaz Sharif revealed during a meeting with senior journalists at the Prime Minister's House that he could confirm that Imran Khan had taken gifts from the treasury and sold them abroad.

 Imran Khan sold these gifts in Dubai for Rs 140 million. Valuable gifts include diamond jewelery, bracelets, watches and sets.


 Shahbaz Sharif said that he had once received a watch as a gift which he had deposited in the treasury. "I do not need to hide anything," he said.
