Dutch coach of national hockey team decides to fast for a whole month
Sigfed Ekman, the head coach of the Pakistan hockey team from the Netherlands, will fast the entire month of Ramadan.
Speaking to Geo News, Siegfed Ekman said, "I never thought that fasting would be so beneficial. I have now decided to fast the whole of Ramadan."
"In the beginning I got used to it, I had headaches, I had stomach problems, but it lasted for a couple of days, at first I thought it wasn't going to be much of an experiment," said Siegfried Ekman. Yes, it will last for a few days but then I started liking everything, I got it.
"Fasting has taught me a lot about me, I know when to do it, when not to do it, I used to drink water whenever I wanted, eat fruit, eat dried fruit, now it's not like that," he said. Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either.
"Fasting has calmed me down, it strengthens your bond wherever you live, because I believe in embracing the culture of the country I'm in, the people around me," said Siegfried Ekman. Should do, now I am fasting with the players.
He also said that he was thinking that he could do whatever he could, even though he was training all these days. They have to plan accordingly, but I wanted to experience what the players are doing and I liked the experience.
