Chinese type of cauliflower prepared for Pakistan
The 61-year-old Sun Daleng, who grows Chinese cauliflower at a breeding center in China's northern Tianjin municipality, is testing the performance of new varieties, which will soon be sent to Pakistan, 4,500 kilometers away.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, Sun Daling works with China's National Bulk Vegetable Industry Technology System and has been cultivating cauliflower and broccoli seeds for decades.
Working as a Chief Expert at the local company Tian Jin Tiang Longzi Tian Agricultural S&T Co., Ltd., he has introduced seed varieties in the fields of the neighboring country which account for about 20% of the cultivated volume in Pakistan.
Shenhua News Agency says that the sun planted many varieties and planted them in the test zone of different types of land in Pakistan in different seasons.
"Usually the temperature in Pakistan is much higher than in China. On the hottest days, it can be more than 50 degrees Celsius. On my first research visit to Pakistan, my neck was exposed to the sun," he said. Was kind of burnt.
The performance of seeds in the test area has greatly affected Pakistani importers as the bulb quality, field yield and germination rate of Tianlong hybrid varieties are much higher than the local varieties.
Muhammad Ansar, research and development manager at Marcopolo Seeds Corporation, said Chinese seeds are more tolerant of drought, salinity, high temperatures, humid rainy weather and flood-prone conditions and various biological factors.
According to the Xinhua News Agency, Tianlong has developed its own unique seed coating technology that has a growth rate of up to 90% and a global standard of over 85%.
Local farmer Muhammad Shafiq also prefers Chinese seed, its bulb is big and round, it is good and sometimes better than European and Japanese seed varieties, however it is very cheap. I can make more money than ever before.
Cultivation of hybrid varieties produced by Sun and Tianlong has increased in Pakistan during 2021 and Chinese seed brand Tianlong has gained popularity in the local seed market.
Bao Wanjun, chairman of Tianlong, said the company was doubling its efforts to improve the batch and tripling production to meet new orders.
Sun said that with the cooperation of the Chinese government, the construction of a new beech cultivation center in Pakistan is part of our plan.
